Let’s start by saying it is important how we dress.
Think about your car when you get it back from service. Shiny and clean. Tires blackened and smelling nice. Sends a message doesn’t it. Your car has been in the hands of experts. Reliable people for quality customer service delivery. It says something positive. You are happy to continue working with these professionals like this.
The airlines put a lot of effort into how employees represent their company. How they convey a feeling of confidence and professionalism. We can put our trust in them.
Equally, when we dress for work we are sending a message. What will your dress code be? What sort of message will you send?
What is appropriate dress code for the workplace?
The PA/EA’s world is often a competitive world. And while you’re looking after the company’s best interests you should also be considering your own. We would never try to tell you what you should wear. But, we would strongly suggest you should decide what message you would like to communicate. How you would like your colleagues to see you.
Think about the message you want to send to your colleagues, your customers and your management. Some appropriate considerations may be:
- Hard working
The way you present yourself will go a long way towards helping you send the message you have chosen to convey. Fashionable presentation can do a lot to advance your cause and prospects should a promotion be in the offing. And remember, you don’t have to go it alone.
Consider a fashion consultation
A second opinion may be quite valuable. You could learn a few tricks on how to authentically express yourself through fashion. A consultation could help you discover your personal style and learn how to dress your best with the body shape and colouring you naturally possess. Some women have found this a life changing experience.
Your Consultation could include:
- Defining your personal style • List of stores and labels true to your personal style
- Style icons to inspire your personal style
- Body type guide + list of best fabrics for your body
- Body shape guide + list of flattering silhouettes for your shape
- Custom colour analysis
- Matching shoes, bags and accessories to your wardrobe
- An objective review of your wardrobe
As we said, it’s a competitive world out there. We need all the help we can get. It’s worth thinking about.
