Shakespeare, Shakuhachi, Opera, Baroque and folk music, twilight performances in the close-by Cloudehill Garden Theatre.
By Jeffry Farman, director CountryPlace
Once a group books at our venue the next question organisers ask is “What can you offer to entertain our group?” “ We want to put on something special and entertaining.” Well here is something really special. Our friends and neighbours at Cloudehill are staging a series of twilight events in their gardens at Olinda.
Spectacular Twilight Performances
Summer evenings provide the loveliest opportunities to hear and see world class performers in the gardens. A picnic basket can be arranged with a bottle of wine to make the experience more enjoyable.
Opera, Baroque & Folk Music
In January and February hear Nellie Melba’s most beloved songs and arias, the Evergreen Ensemble performing Baroque and Folk music from Brittany & France, listen to the modern sounds of the Shakuhachi, with master Riley Lee and enjoy the sounds in the soft evening light.
The Cloudehill Gardens provide the perfect backdrop for these performances. A spectacular outdoor setting inspired by the great Renaissance gardens of Europe, Cloudehill is divided into twenty unique garden environments or “garden rooms.” The “Green Theatre” sits on the gentle sloped lawns, surrounded by flowering gardens and the dramatic forest.
